Xu Shengcheng, Vice President of Lanzhou University and a delegation visited the United Kingdom from November 20th to 23rd. They paid a visit to York University, Aston University, Cardiff University and London South Bank University to discuss issues of co-education.
In the meeting with Professor Jon Timms and Professor Andy Tiller, chief of Electronic Department of York University, Professor Timmsdisplayed his keen interest in co-education and hoped to further discuss its cooperation with School of Physical Science and Technology, Lanzhou University, to realize cooperation on majors and departments and promote cooperation much more extensively. Both parties have reached an agreement on consistent communication to determine fields and modes of cooperation in the future.
George Figg, Professor of the Business Department of Aston University would like to have an all-round cooperation with School of Management, Lanzhou University on talents nurturing, management and training, etc. Xu Shengcheng, Vice President of LZU, thought the vision of cooperation between the two universities was very promising and would like to establish stable and long-term cooperation through communication.
Professor Nora Lu, Vice President in charge of international affairs of Cardiff University, considered Lanzhou University for/as a good reputation in the world, and asserted this visit would gave impetus to personnel exchange and cooperation on academics and research, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation. Xu introduced several modes of co-education to Professor Lu and they discussed specific majors and issues of co-education reaching an initial agreement of cooperation.
