Associate Prof. Yan Yu from Art Academy of LZU, at the invitation of UNC (University of North Carolina) International Education Center, held his personal painting show in its “Asian Culture Festival”. Prologized for the show was Prof. He Hongzhou from Oil Painting Department of China Academy of Art, also the winner of gold medal for oil painting in the 12th National Fine Arts Exhibition. The exhibition, themed “Exploring the Origin, Enlightening the Heart”, displayed Prof. Yan’s oil paintings, Chinese paintings and calligraphy from Feb. 19th to 26th.

The show exhibited part of works created by Prof. Yan as a summary of his visit in USA, which integrats oriental skills and occidental content together. Prof. Yan was paid high attention and received warm praise from all sectors of society, including the congratulatory letter from LZU’s Vice-president An Lizhe. China Press USA, USA’s best-known newspaper in Chinese reported this show in its New York Edition and Weekend Edition both in half page. UNC also covered this exhibition on its official website, as well as China Radio International and its official Facebook account. This is the first time for LZU’s teachers to hold overseas personal painting show.
