In 2017, LZU gained approval of 12.06 million RMB for talent introduction programs from Ministry of Education (MOE) and the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs (SAFEA), with a growth of 44% compared with 2016(see table 1). Among this, 5 Innovation and Talent Introduction Bases relying on LZU’s distinctive disciplines gained an expenditure of 4.5 million RMB, 2 "Belt and Road" Cultural and Educational Talent Introduction Projects 0.3 million RMB, 4 Famous Overseas Teacher Projects 0.8 million RMB, 3 LZU Distinctive Projects 0.6 million RMB, 1 High-end Foreign Expert Program 0.73 million RMB, 4 Foreign Young Talent Introduction Programs 0.8 million RMB. Apart from this, LZU Key Foreign Expert Introduction Program obtained funds of 4.33 million RMB, rising by 360% compared with 2016.

Since 2011, LZU scored continuing growth in the number and funds of talent introduction programs. The funds rose with an average annual growth rate of 13%. (See Table 2) From 2011 to now, LZU gained funds of 52.87 million RMB for talent introduction from MOE and SAFEA (except China’s "Thousand Foreign Talents Program").

In recent years, the number and quality of foreign experts in LZU have been improved constantly. In 2016, we have introduced 813 foreign experts working in short- or long-term distributed in 27 schools (labs or institutions). Among this, 23 experts working in medium- and long-term, and 790 experts in short-term come from 40 countries (regions). Moreover, 9 foreign academicians, 1 expert from China’s "Thousand Foreign Talents Program", 691 professors, vice-professors as well as doctors constitute 84.9% of LZU’s foreign experts.
With the support of MOE and SAFEA, LZU’s scientific researches are well under way with might doubled, thus providing the intellectual support and guarantee for the sustainable development of the disciplines in LZU.
