Invited by Hong Kong New Youth Forum and Longyuan Cross-straits Exchange Center, 10 student delegates led by Chang Liang, director of Campus Cultural Activities Guidance Center of LZU's Youth League Committee, visited Hong Kong and Nanning, Guangxi from July 27 to August 6.
In Hong Kong, students engaged in dialogues with Uber's general manager of Hong Kong, co-attended the Development Forum for youths from Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, and they also investigated people's livelihood in communities, visited some social institutions and participated in youth speech activities. In the Development Forum, Liang Zhenying, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), shared issues about development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with participants. And they also acquainted themselves with Hong Kong's history and culture, policy and livelihood through community investigations and home visits, which made them well understood the real state of Hong Kong. Besides, through visits to the Hong Kong Legislative Council Complex (LCC), Hong Kong Monetary Authority and some other related organizations, students had a firsthand understanding of the operational mode for public-operated organizations, non-governmental organizations and social communities in Hong Kong.
During the visit to Nanning, participants visited Nanning International Exhibition Center, Guangxi Museum of Nationalities and Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Spot. Besides, they also visited Guangxi University and attended the lecture on "ASEAN and the Belt and Road".
The event not only further deepened students’ understanding of each other’s culture, but also improved their relationships.
