Chen Xinwen, VP of National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan) reports at LZU Cuiying Forum

Prof. Chen Xinwen, vice-president of Tsing Hua University (Taiwan) visited LZU and reported on LZU Cuiying Forum, also the "B & R Development Forum", along with Prof. Xie Wenyu from Minghsin University of Science and Technology (Taiwan) from August 18 to 20. He Deyan, assistant to LZU's President met them, accompanied by the principals from Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Physical Science and Technology and Students' Affairs Office.

He Deyan said, both sides have had close communication since cooperating on Junzheng Scholars Program and Silk Road Tour for students in West China and Taiwan, and other serial activities. He expressed his hope that teachers of both sides could strengthen their exchanges and cooperate in scientific research. Prof. Chen affirmed the long-term cooperation of both sides and praised LZU’s students.

Moreover, Prof. Chen attended LZU Cuiying Forum, also the "B & R Development Forum" and made a report named "Phase diagrams: Electronic soldering and Thermoelectrics". He illustrated the application of phase diagram measurement and lead-free solder and of thermoelectric materials system to energy sources and environment protection, introduced the development of higher education in Taiwan and NTHU (Taiwan) and discussed with attendees about education of mainland and Taiwan.

During the visit, Prof. Chen Xinwen and principals of Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs deeply exchanged views on joint cultivation of postgraduate students, double degree of postgraduate, and scientific research cooperation between NTHU(Taiwan) and LZU.
