On September 16, Lanzhou University (LZU) Development Forum and the International Conference on University Transformation and Development was held on the Chengguan campus.
The Secretary of the CPC LZU Committee Ma Xiaojie hosted the opening ceremony. First Vice President of Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) Primkul Sholpankulovich Ibragimov and President Yan Chunhua delivered speeches.
Ma Xiaojie pointed out the urgent need for transformation within China’s higher education system and institutes amid unprecedented global changes. He said the forum, themed on “university transformation and development”, aimed to facilitate discussions among worldwide scholars on the innovative concepts and governance strategies in the context of high-quality, digital and sustainable development of global higher education so as to advance the university transformation and better serve the social development.
The forum comprised a main session and sub-forums focusing on modern university governance, digital transformation, and postgraduate studies. Vice President Wang Wei presided over the main forum.
The forum drew the attendance of over 200 representatives from domestic and foreign universities, institutes as well as enterprises.
