From Sept. 22 to 23, the 14th Staff Sport Meeting and the 7th Graduate Sport Meeting of Lanzhou University opened in athletic field of headquarters. Those attending the opening ceremony included Yuan Zhanting, LZU’s Party Secretary, Wang Cheng, LZU’s President, LZU’s Chairman of Labor Union, Zhong Fuguo, Deputy Party Secretary, Cao Aihui, Vice-president Xu Shengcheng, Pan Baotian, Cao Hong, and Assistant to President, Fan Baojun. The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhong Fuguo.
Party Secretary Yu Zhanting declared the opening of the sport meeting.
Pres. Wang Cheng expressed his hope that after the sport meeting, LZU staff and students can form a habit of doing exercise so as to enjoy mental and physical fitness and further a brilliant future. Through this process, LZU spirit “Constantly Improving, Blazing our own path” was also cultivated.
At 8 o’clock, after Mr. Yuan’s declaration, with exciting Athletes March, China’s national flag team, bouquet team, colorful flag team, drum team, judge team and athlete team entered the field one by one. Under the beautiful background music, Kong Fu, aerobics dancing, Guo Zhuang dancing and other group performances showed the spirit and disposition of LZUers.
Life is more colorful because of sports, and sports will help dreams to come true. Today, when LZU puts forward its “double world-classes” construction, the athletes on the field show more pride and happiness. Hope they will blaze their own way on the sports field so as to practice the LZU spirit and lead a lifestyle of loving sports.
