Pakistan Cabinet Council approves LZU-Pakistan Agricultural Research Council Cooperation Agreement

On October 25, the cabinet council of Pakistan, presided by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, discussed the cooperation agreement between LZU and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council as a special agenda and finally gave the approval. This is also the first approved cooperation agreement between Chinese university and Pakistan institution.

Wang Cheng, the President of LZU, signed this cooperation agreement with the representatives of the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council in Islamabad on 29th September 2015. The agreement encourages both parties to cooperate extensively and deeply in scientific research, expense application, personnel exchange,  profession training as well as base construction in the fields such as ecology, agriculture, animal husbandry, microorganism, and biomass energy. Since the signing of this agreement, the technological cooperation between LZU and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council and even the whole country develops dramatically, and their cooperation gains the backing of “One Road and One Belt” special fund of LZU which is strongly supported by Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Department of Gansu Province as well as Gansu enterprises. In addition, LZU and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council have jointly published several high-level academic papers and authorized a Pakistan international patent.

With the approval of this cooperation agreement by the cabinet of Pakistan, the scientific cooperation between LZU and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council and even the whole country will gain another round of development and enhancement, thus making great contributions tothe “One Road and One Belt”field in the course of LZU’s “Double First-rate”development.
