On Oct. 18th, China-UZ International Forum of History, Culture, Science and Economy was held in Tashkent by Tashkent Confucius Institute co-built by LZU and Uzbekistan National Oriental College. Totally 150 experts and scholars from Uzbekistan and China attended the meeting. Those who addressed in the opening ceremony included Sun Lijie, China’s ambassador to Uzbekistan, principals of Uzbekistan Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Deans on the Chinese Uzbekistan sides of Tashkent Confucius Institute.
The international forum was divided into five sub-parts: seminar for language and pedagogics, philosophy and philology, history and culture education, economics, and young sinologists’ workshop. Scholars and experts from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Lanzhou University, Tashkent Confucius Institute, Tashkent National Oriental College and many other academic institutes discussed about Sino-UZ relationship, Chinese history and philosophy, translation of China’s ancient books, Chinese teaching and sinology study.
Deans of Tashkent Confucius Institute on both the Chinese and Uzbekistan sides agreed that the forum exerted increasingly greater influence than ever before as the special project of the Institute. Against the background of “Belt and Road” Initiative put forward by China, both sides will enjoy a more brilliant and vast prospect in the aspect of cooperation. The Institute will continue to support and facilitate the academic exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the fields of sinology, history, culture, and economy, so as to provide a still better platform for all works of society including students to learn Chinese, and know about China and Chinese culture.
