Under the auspices of the European Union’s Council on Foreign Relations, the China-Europe Dialogue on peace and development in Afghanistan kicked off at China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations in Beijing, China on March 23rd. Nearly 20 scholars from China and the European Union, including Prof. Yang Shu from the Institute for Central Asian Studies, LZU, held frank discussions on multifaceted topics referred to peace and reconstruction in Afghanistan. Representatives considered that the collaboration between China and European Union has been essential to the rebuilding of Afghanistan, giving top priority to the exchange of scholars from both sides. In addition, as the meeting was subsidized by Norwegian Embassy in China, Mr. Geir O. Pedersen, Ambassador of Norway to China attended it and delivered a speech.
