On May 15th, the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and the Pakistan Regional Institute for Peace (RPI) jointly held a one-day tripartite seminar entitled "China-Afghan-Pakistan: Constructive Cooperation for Sustainable Growth" in Islamabad. Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing, Pakistan National Security Advisor Zhan Zhua, and Afghan ambassador to Pakistan Zahwar attended the seminar and gave speeches respectively. Nearly 100participants, including academics, media, and diplomats from China, Afghan and Pakistan, as well as diplomats from some countries in Pakistan were present at the meeting. Associate Prof. Zhu Yongbiao, director of LZU Afghanistan Research Center and assistant director of the Central Asia Institute, was invited as one of the three Chinese representatives and gave a presentation.
During the meeting, Associate Prof. Zhu also talked with the representatives from Pakistan and some think tanks in Afghanistan on related cooperation issues and finally they reached preliminary cooperation intentions.
