On May 29th, an award ceremony for the “Innovative Cup” industrial design competition in Gansu province was held at Lanzhou University of Technology. It was jointly organized by Gansu Provincial Government, the Provincial Commission of Industry and Information Technology, and the Provincial Department of Education. The cultural work “Ceramic Patterns and Fish Patterns”(hand-made cookies) by Zhang Panpan, Zhang Jieqi, and Weiwei Hao, graduate students of Prof. Shen Mingjie from School of the Arts, director of Lanzhou University Silk Road Cultural and Creative Product Design and Research Center, stood out from 1,133 pieces and won the gold award.
In recent years, School of the Arts has thoroughly implemented the policies of the Central Committee, explored the Silk Road and Gansu cultural and artistic resources, transformed and developed the collated cultural resources increation. It established "Lanzhou University Silk Road Cultural and Creative Product Design and Research Center." Combining the development of cultural and creative industries, the research and practice of some transformation and development projects have been carried out, including "design for poverty alleviation", "construction of a beautiful countryside", "village rejuvenation", boosting the local economy. This award is the result of the previous research.
