Leaders Meet with Head of Hungarian Wagener Physics Research Center

On June 7th, the director of the Wigner Physics Research Center in Hungary, academician Peter Jozsef Levai and his group visited Lanzhou University. The Pres. Yan Chunhua, met with the guests in the VIP room of the Science Museum. Vice-President Bao Baotian, staffs from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and the School of Nuclear Science and Technology also attended the meeting.

Pres.Yan introduced the development of related disciplines in LZU and hoped that the two sides would implement cooperation plans on the basis of signing the cooperation memorandum. He suggested that the two sides extended the cooperation from nuclear science to other fields and gradually deepened all-round cooperation. He expressed his hope that we would cooperate in the joint training, mutual visits of scholars, and joint research, and also extended welcome to the Hungarian teachers’ visit to LZU for long and short term teaching and communication.

Academician Levai talked about the cooperation with School of Nuclear Science and Technology of LZU. He not only welcomed LZUers to the Wegener Physics Research Center to carry out research projects, but also promised to provide them with training in the use of equipment. In addition, he looked forward to working with LZU under the Belt & Road framework in research institutions establishment, joint research projects application and all-round cooperation.

After the meeting, the two sides signed the Lanzhou University-Wignerner Physics Research Center memorandum of cooperation.
