On June 11th, LZU held a signing ceremony in the VIP room of the Science Museum for the appointment of Zhang Zhaoxi, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)and research fellow of the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the CAS. He was hired as a employed academician of Lanzhou University. LZU president Yan Chunhua signed the appointment contract on behalf of LZU.
LZU party secretary Yuan Zhanting expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to Zhang Zhaoxi. He said that this event is a crucial part of implementing the cooperative agreement between the school and the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the CAS, and he hopes that Academician Zhang will provide guidance and assistance in the young faculty training, talent introduction and discipline construction.
President Yan Chunhua said that as a famous particle physicist, academician Zhang took the lead in promoting the cooperation and exchange between the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the CAS and LZU, which will boost LZU “Double First Rate” construction.
Zhang Zhaoxi first expressed his appreciation for LZU’s trust for him and said that he will continue to honor the cooperation framework agreement between two sides and will work to build the Peng Huanwu Scientific and Educational Cooperation Center in his future work. He will make every effort to assist the Institute in carrying out relative work.
