It covers 1,600 square meters, consisting of agastrointestinal motility research office, a cell biology research office, a molecular biologyresearch office, an immunity room, and a gastrointestinal endoscopy room. It is equipped with flow cytometers, multifunctional immunoassay system, fluorescence microscopes, FISH work station, high performance liquid chromatographs, which in total worth more than 15 million RMB. There are 28 staff, to be specific, eleven chief physicians, four associate chief physicians, eleven attending physicians and two residents. More than 400 articles are published on journals home and abroad, among with 90 ones are published on journals listed in SCI. The achievements it made include the Science and Technology Advancement Awards by the Department of Science and Technology of Gansu Province (one first prize and three second prizes), more than 50 graduates with master’s degree or Ph.D. degree, nine Ph.D. candidates and 30 master’s degree candidates.
Relying on the discipline advantages and research support from Lanzhou University, the lab aims at answering medical frontier questions and meeting the development needs of state and provincial health service. Targeting at improving the diagnosis proficiency ofgastrointestinal diseases and research level, the lab studies the cause, nosogenesis, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the common and frequently-occurred gastrointestinal diseases in Gansu province. In this way, it has formed several sub-disciplines about chronic stomachdisorder diagnosis and treatment, gastric cancer, chronic liver disease, and gastrointestinal motility. The lab contributes a lot to the health service development of Gansu Province and Gansu people’s health.
