On the afternoon of September 10th 2012 Teachers’ Day Commendation Meeting was held to celebrate the 28th Teachers’ Day and praise the outstanding individuals and units in the work of teaching, scientific research, and management since 2011 in the lecture hall of Feiyun Building in Tianshui Road campus of Lanzhou University.
Presented the meeting were secretary-general of the CPC committee Wang Hansong, president Zhou Xuhong, deputy secretary Li Hengbin, deputy secretary of the CPC committee and secretary-general disciplinary committee Li Zhengyuan, and vice presidents Jing Tao, He Xiaodong, Chen Fahu and Xu Shengcheng. The principals of the First Hospital, the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University, and leaders of the intermediate units, the praised individuals and representatives of the praised units, teacher representatives, retired teaching and administrative staff representatives, student representatives, teacher and student representatives in the affiliated middle school attended the meeting. Wang Hansong presided over the meeting.
President Zhou Xuhong delivered a report named “The Key to Comprehensively Improve the Quality of Talent Training Is to Enhance Teaching Team Construction”. He extended his greetings to all the hard-working teaching and administration staff, congratulated the praised people, and showed his respects to the staff representatives engaged in education for thirty years in Lanzhou University.
Prof. Shen Yuying from the School of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology and Wei Zhuoyun, a student pursuing doctoral degree majoring in Botany in Grade 2010 from the School of Life Sciences delivered a speech at the meeting as representatives of teachers and students respectively.
The leaders of the university presented certificate respectively to the winners of 2012 annual quality video open class construction course hosted by the Ministry of Education, receivers of the 7th Award of Teaching Masters in Universities of Gansu Province, 2012 higher school teaching team leader in Gansu province, winners of 2012 year high school quality course in Gansu province, representatives of various scientific research award winners, author representatives of papers published on the SCI and SSCI journals in 2010, representatives of major project award receivers, personal funds contribution award winners in 2011, scientific research funds contribution award winning units in 2011, and the units achieving scientific research organization award.
Shen Yuying, the national march-eighth red-banner pacesetter of Lanzhou University, Zheng Binglin, the national education system professional ethics construction model, Wang Qiulin, national veteran cadre work advanced worker winner, Li Zhilong, the national employment advanced worker, Chen Xingguo and Liu Yingqi, Gansu province "gardener award" winners in 2012, and the staff representatives engaged in education for thirty years were commended at the meeting as well.
