4th FICC held at LZU

On the afternoon of Dec. 28, the 4th FICC (Festival of International Culture & Communication) was held on the 2nd Floor of Dangui Dining Hall of Lanzhou University. Present the opening ceremony were LZU party secretary-general Wang Hansong, vice president Jing Tao and An Lizhe, Li Tingting, deputy director of the China Scholarship Council, Wang Ping, deputy head of Education Department of Gansu Province, Lv Xinglai, deputy inspector of the Foreign Affairs Office of Gansu Province, Da Gang, director Entry-Exit Office of Lanzhou Municipal Police Station, leaders of the relevant departments at Lanzhou University, Northwest Normal University, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Lanzhou University of Technology, Gansu Uiversity of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Lanzhou College of Technology, etc. The opening ceremony was presided over by An Lizhe.

Wang Hansong enjoyed the pictures, arts and crafts, and food area of each country, and had friendly conversation with students. Jing Tao in his speech fully appreciated the positive role of the series of international culture festival activities in enhancing campus atmosphere and the communication between Chinese and foreign teachers and students. Li Tingting also spoke highly of Lanzhou University’s efforts and achievements in undertaking foreign students education in the western underdeveloped region, and hoped that the students could cherish the precious time studying at LZU. Wang ping proclaimed the 4th FICC at LZU open.

It is reported that the festival sets new records in terms of the content and size of participants. Thousands of students from over 30 countries participated with immense zeal, including 27 countries’ students carefully preparing their own pictures, dress, handicrafts and food display, and 21 countries’ students bringing exotic art performance, such as Central Asian song and dance, Ukraine's folk dance, African song and dance, Korean students’ "Gangnang Style", the songs of "the Loess Upper Part" and "I Believe" which impressed the audience a lot.
