Lanzhou University (LZU), together with the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States, the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences and others, carried out a systematic study on the frontier scientific issue of “the effect of the Tibetan Plateau (TP) on modern global climate”.
Recently, Science Bulletin published a paper entitled “Ocean Repeaters Boost the Global Climatic Impact of the Tibetan Plateau”, which revealed the significant influence of the TP on the modern global climate and the effect of oceanic repeater in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
The research was recommended by renowned scholars as a highlight (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.scib.2023.09.047).
The research was jointly completed by the team of Academician Huang Jianping of LZU and the team of Academician Wu Guoxiong of Institute of Atmospheric Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences as well as other institutes, and supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities of LZU. The first author of the paper was Young Researcher Xie Yongkun from the Collaborative Innovation Center for Western Ecological Safety of LZU.
