Ms. Emma Levy, head of the fund project of the board at CLSA Ltd., and Ms. Zhang Xiao, senior researcher of Beijing Branch of CLSA Ltd., visited Lanzhou University from March 19th to 20th.
As the donor of “CLSA Education Scholarships at Lanzhou University”, CLSA Ltd. set up the “CLSA Education Scholarships at Lanzhou University” with a total amount of RMB 1.56 million in September 2009. So far, it has subsidized 30 girls with financial difficulties enrolled in 2009 from northwest China for four consecutive years, with RMB 13,000 per year for each girl.
LZU president Zhou Xuhong and vice president Jing Tao met with Ms. Emma Levy and her party on the afternoon of March 19th. On behalf of LZU, Zhou Xuhong expressed thanks to CLSA Ltd. for its support for the growth of LZU students, and hoped to continue cooperation.
During the visit, they also visited the 30 students who have obtained the scholarship for four consecutive years, talked with related administrative staff from Development and Planning Office, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and Students’ Affairs Office to learn about the implementation of the first phase of the project and discussed the feasibility and implementation plan to carry out the second phase of the scholarship project.
