The first Calligraphy Exhibition was held in the School of International Cultural Exchange, LZU on June 28, in order to promote the traditional Chinese culture, enhance the understanding of Chinese culture and cultivate students’ interest in learning about Chinese culture.
This contest is held for the international students majoring in Chinese language at LZU and attracted many students to participate. Most of the contestants just learned to practice calligraphy for the first time and for a short period, but they were attentive while they were learning. Calligraphy teachers praised those students for their hard work and quick progress in the short learning process. The judges carefully looked through all the contestants’ work and decided that the Korean student Ju Benjin won the first prize for his smooth handwriting and beautiful calligraphy, that Uzbekistan student Wen Lian and the Kyrgyz student Tan Yin’na won the second prize, and another Korean student and Kyrgyz student won the third prize.
Our school has set up various courses on Chinese culture for Chinese Language Undergraduates, for example, martial arts, Chinese customs, and Appreciation of Chinese movies with a view to cultivating Chinese language talents with rich cultural background and comprehensive quality.
