In early July, a delegation led by President Zhou Xuhong and Vice President Chen Fahu paid a visit to the University of Reading, Royal Holloway, the University of London, University College London and Loughborough University, United Kingdom. They reached a broad consensus on programs such as joint training of undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and student exchange, research cooperation, international collaborative innovation of the 2011 scheme, development of dominant disciplines, specialty disciplines and humanity disciplines.
During the visit, President Zhou signed student exchange agreements with University of Reading and Royal Holloway, University of London respectively. He also signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Prof. Tim Unwin, CEO of Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation, on creating a branch of the UNESCO Chair in ICT4D at LZU.
