Students gathered on Thursday afternoon 24th October in the Cuiying Honors College lecture hall of Lanzhou University to listen to Dr. Liang Luohui, an Academic Programme Officer from the United Nations University, giving an inspiring lecture about their course information and how to enter a Masters or Doctoral degree program at their university.
Dr. Liang introduced their courses, including the core courses such as Global Change and Sustainability, International Peace and Security, and the specialized courses such as Human Rights in a Globalized World and Science and Technology for a Global Society. He also told to us about the admission requirements and how to apply if we want to go to study there.
After the lecture, a third year Cuiying Honors College chemistry student asked about what jobs they could do after graduation from UNU. Dr. Liang said that they only had their first batch of graduates so far, and he only knew about two of his students, but they had both found jobs in large multi-nationals after returning to their home countries.
Students learnt much about UNU from this lecture and it raised their awareness of its programmes.
