Recently, “Decision on Recognition of Exemplary Teachers and Education Workers in China” (E/P [2014]3) that released by the Ministry of Education announced that Prof. Wu Wangsuo from LZU was chosen as “National Excellent Teacher” of the year 2014.
Prof. Wu Wangsuo has long been engaged in researches in the areas of “Nuclear and Radiochemistry” and “Application of Nuclear Technology”. He has organized many academic conferences and has been invited to many to make reports on his researches, which have drawn widespread attention from both inside and outside of the country. He once won top prize in teaching in Gansu Province for his outstanding achievements. He was also entitled to many other awards including Provincial Model of Ethical Teacher, Top Teacher of Gansu Province and LZU Longji Top Teacher Prize etc. His courses of “Introduction to Nuclear Science” were accepted as exquisite courses of Chinese universities and were accessible to the public. Besides, “Radiochemistry and Nuclear Chemistry Basis”, another lecture series of his, was awarded as provincial exquisite course.
In celebration of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 30th Teachers’ Day, the Ministry of Education will further promote the sound atmosphere of respecting teachers and valuing education, inspire the sense of honor and responsibility among teachers and education workers and encourage more outstanding talents to join the cause of education. To enhance the scientific development of education, the Ministry of Education decided to honor a group of outstanding teachers and prominent educators. There are altogether 1,798 teachers received this honor.
