The National & Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Photo-conversion Material and Technology, applied by School of Physical and Technology of LZU, has been approved to be established, the second national & local joint engineering laboratory approved for the university.
The lab will be established on the basis of the Gansu Optical Functional Material Engineering Laboratory of the university. It answers to major demands of the nation and the realities of the western China, focuses on such issues in Gansu Province as structural singularity and low added value of rare earth materials and their products, and science obstacles in rare earth industry and its downstream industry. Aiming to satisfy the tremendous demands of enterprises for new type of effective photo-conversion functional materials, it is resolved to address critical technical puzzles in the field of photo-conversion functional materials, set up a working mechanism conducive to the translation between technical innovation and fruits, and finally accelerate the transfer from scientific results to productivity.
