Recently, Prof. Qu Wei and Prof. Niu Shuwen from College of Earth Environmental Science (CEES) of LZU were invited to attend the Global Forum of Food and Agriculture 2017 (GFFA 2017) in the International Green Week (IGW) in Berlin. The theme of this forum was "The Third side of one coin: Agriculture and Water". As a special guest of the forum, Professor Qu Wei gave a speech on the subject of "Water resource management of China's inland rivers".
As a branch of the whole forum, "Agriculture and Water in China" attracted the attention of experts from Germany, Britain, the Netherlands and other countries in such fields as agriculture, geography, management, sociology and even water-saving technology and software development. Through discussion and communication, experts and scholars from German-Chinese Agricultural Center (DCZ), Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO), Technische Universitat Munchen (TUM), Institute of Strategies and Technoloty Assessment of German and other research institutions have preliminarily decided to carry out cooperative research and technology promotion with College of Earth Environmental Science of Lanzhou University.
