Recently, according to official news, four research centers declared by LZU: "Georgia research center", "Afghanistan research center", "India research center" and "Italy research center" are registered in the 2017 China’s State and Regional Research Center List for record(valid for three years). Department of International Organizations and Conferences of Ministry of Education will strengthen contact and give further instruction to the listed centers and provide consultative service as well as help those centers to carry out basic research through certain subjects.
The State and Regional Research Center is a substantive platform aiming at carrying out comprehensive research to certain country, or region's politics, economy, culture and society by integrating resources. According to the notice On Carrying Out 2017 State and Regional Research issued by the general office of Ministry of Education in May, 2017, LZU's Social Science Administration took the lead to hold seminars on the construction of state and region research center to investigate and mobilize the declaration made by LZU. On May 20, the administration reported record materials of seven research centers including Institute for Central Asian Studies, LZU, a training base for state and regional research centers.
To further promote the construction of state and regional research, each listed research center shall continuously put forward self-construction and serve national and local strategic need by relying on discipline construction and talent cultivation and aiming at political consultation, so that to answer diplomatic strategy, improve research quality and enhance high-level think tank development.
