From August 6th to 19th, the Dunhuang Institute of Lanzhou University(LZU) organized the "Lanzhou University Hu Chinese Inscriptions Study Group" to conduct an academic investigation on the "Grassland Silk Road" in the eastern section of Mongolia. The delegation was headed by Zheng Binglin, director of the Dunhuang Studies Institute of Lanzhou University, the key research bases for Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, and the Special-term Professor of the Yangtze River Professor Program with group members including Professor Bai Yudong from Dunhuang Institute, Associate Professor Tu Yijiang, and Turkey. Professor M. Ölmez from Istanbul University.
The research report and the interpretation to the inscription will be published in the 4th issue of the Dunhuang Studies Journal hosted by the Dunhuang Studies Institute of Lanzhou University in 2018. The academic study was strongly supported by the Mongolian International Institute of Nomadic Culture, a subsidiary of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and Mongolia. The Ministry of Humanities of the Mongolia National University provided personnel and technical support for the study. A. Ochir, the liaison of the Mongolian International Nomadic Culture Institute, the former director of the History Institute of Mongolian Academy of Sciences accompanied the delegation.
