Apurva Kakade, an Indian student, is now doing her post-doctoral research at Lanzhou University in northwest China's Gansu Province.

She has studied at the university for nearly five years.

With the supervisor's guidance, she has been engaged in research about how heavy metals affect the fish in the Yellow River.

After getting her doctor's degree from Lanzhou University, Kakade is conducting her post-doctoral research here.

She mentioned that she hopes to learn more from her Chinese supervisors and take the technology back home to apply it for the protection of the Ganges river.
