Mr. Liu Shutian, from LZU’s School of Journalism and Communication, won the Lifetime Achievement Award of Awards for the Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) on 2017 Annual Academic Conference for the Chinese Association for History of Journalism and Mass Communication, which was held in Zhengzhou University on August 19.
At the awards ceremony, Mr. Liu has gained high praise from the Institute for his dedication to the educational work of journalism and communication. It is believed that Mr. Liu is an outstanding news theoretician and a distinguished journalism educator, and he also serves as one of the main founders of LZU’s Department of Journalism and science of journalism and communication. After graduated from Fudan University, Mr. Liu chose to settle in the northwest part of China. He “always regards the Department of Journalism as important as his life”, and has witnessed the development of journalism and communication education in western China. Mr. Liu is determined to be an excellent teacher and act as an exemplary person, whose profound knowledge and lofty character are invaluable assets of study of journalism and communication in China.
This award was jointly established by the Chinese Association for History of Journalism and Mass Communication and Steering Committee of journalism and communication education for colleges and universities of Ministry of Education, aiming to commend renowned experts who have made contributions to the education and discipline construction of China’s journalism and communication.
