Delegation of Japanese University Students Visits LZU

On September 3, led by Prof. Kenji Iwata, Vice President and Trustee of Kyushu University, delegation of Japanese university students from the Kyushu region visited Lanzhou University (LZU). Vice President Cao Hong met with the guests at the Chengguan campus.


Vice President Cao Hong extended a warm welcome to the delegation and gave a brief introduction to the history, academic specialties, and achievements in international education of LZU. She emphasized the importance of this visit in furthering mutual understanding and friendship between the youth of both countries, and hoped to deepen cooperation between LZU and Kyushu University, as well as other Japanese universities and institutes in fields of Dunhuang studies, history, environmental sciences, economics, and sociology.
Vice President Kenji Iwata praised highly accomplishments of LZU in academic research and internationalization. He noted that the delegation members experienced the educational allure of LZU and had a deeper understanding of Chinese culture through this visit. He expressed anticipation for more opportunities for future exchanges and collaboration with LZU to strengthen friendly ties between the youth of China and Japan.


During the visit, the delegation engaged in discussions with students and faculty from the Japanese Department of the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the Yuzhong campus. 


Supported by the Consulate General of China in Fukuoka, the delegation, consisting of students and faculty from Kyushu University, Fukuoka University, The University of Kitakyushu, Meio University, The University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa University, and other Japanese educational institutes, will spend five days in Gansu in visiting key cultural sites and ecological conservation projects.
