From September 4 to today, the 13th National Student Games(NSG) in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, had a fierce battle in full swing. On behalf of Gansu Province, the outstanding sports team of LZU has performed well in the first stage, winning high scores in different events.
During the martial arts competition ended in September 8, students Zhao Pengxia, Lin Lan from School of Journalism and Communication, and Li Qianlan from School of Law, won the women's team on the championship; Gansu Team composed of LZU college students professional at martial arts reaped a gold medal, a silver medal (Zhang Juanjuan, Women’s Spear Play), 2 sixths (Zhang Juanjuan, Women's swordsmanship; Zhang Juanjuan, Women’s Changquan), and 2 sevenths (Zhao Kunrun, Men’s tai chi; Hu Dingyuan, Men’s Tai Chi Sword). This is the best result athletes from martial arts team of LZU have ever gained in NSG.
In the volleyball game finished in the evening of September 10, LZU’s high level women's volleyball team beat Hunan team at 3-1, obtaining the second victory in group phase. Earlier in the first group match on September 8, LZU women's volleyball team thrashed Jilin Team at 3-0. Up to now, LZU’s women volleyball team, on behalf of Gansu team has won two victories, has sealed the top six in women's volleyball of 13th NSG, breaking the best record of Gansu Province and LZU in the history of National Comprehensive Student Sports.
The three high-level sports teams of LZU - Martial arts, women's volleyball and athletics, have successfully reached the finals in NSG with splendid scores, among which a total of 26 athletes played on behalf of the Gansu Province.
