LZUers scored 1st in China 1st National Chemical Experiment Contest for College Students

During August 14th to 16th, the national final of the 1st National Chemical Experiment Contest for College Students was held in Tianjin University. Consisting of three undergraduate students of 2014, including Huang Yunhai, Wu Haoran, Zhang Qi, the LZU team named “new start of Cuiying” stood out of the 64 college teams from 6 divisions of China and won the 1st prize in the national final after 2-day fierce competition.

This contest contains qualification trials and national finals. In the qualification trial of the northwestern area held in North University of China, “new start of Cuiying”and “3U of LZU”(including three undergraduate students of 2014, Yan Yu, Wang Jiawen and Wang Yang, majoring in chemical engineering and technology specialty) won the grand prize(ranking the first place) and the first prize respectively. In the end, “new start of Cuiying”represented LZU to participate in the national finals and fully demonstrated  solid theoretical base and excellent practical ability of students majoring in chemical engineering and technology specialty in LZU.

The first National chemical experiment contest for college students, with the theme of “ setting sail-Chemical Engineer”, includes theory of chemical principles(accounting for 45%),basic chemical engineering experiment(accounting for 40%) and chemical engineering simulation experiment(accounting for 15%).The contest was held to promote the construction of newly-built specialty of engineering in general institutes of higher education strengthen the practical innovation in higher engineering education and improve the practical and innovative ability of chemical engineering talents.
