In the afternoon, 26th September, “Silk Road” Chinese Government Scholarship students met their tutor in the Biology Building. The vice president the vice president of LZU and Meng Xingmin, the dean of the College of International Cultural Exchange attended the meet-and-greet. Besides, all the faculties and students majoring in microbiology from the College of Life Science as well as all “Silk Road” Chinese Government Scholarship students joined in this activity.
Mr. An made a brief introduction about the “Silk Road” Chinese Government Scholarship and extended his hope to the foreign students that they should cherish the hard-won opportunity, make more contributions to the development of microbiology in Pakistan and act as a bridge for the friendship between the two countries. Mr. Meng introduced the enrollment of “Silk Road” Chinese Government Scholarship in LZU and the status quo of foreign students’ education and encouraged these students to integrate in the big family as soon as possible. ASIF AZIZ, the representative of the new students, said that they would study hard in LZU to devote themselves to developing their motherland as well as promoting the friendship between China and Pakistan.
“Silk Road” Chinese Government Scholarship is set in accordance with the relevant proposals of Vision and Actions on Jointly Building Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road as well as the requirement of facilitating the Educational Action on Promoting the Belt and Road. It is made to cultivate elites in specific areas for the countries alongside the Belt and Road.
The project of The Cultivation of High-end Talents for Pakistan, led by An Lizhe, has been ratified and will offer 20 Pakistani doctors majoring in biomass energy for full scholarship every year from 2017 to 2020. The enrollment of this project has exerted extensive influences on Pakistan this year and recruited 39 doctors in microbiology, successfully finishing our enrollment goal.
