On Oct. 31 , The 7th Junior International Conference on Cutting-Edge Organic Chemistry in Asia (Junior ICCEOCA-7) &The 3rd Junior Advanced Research Network on Cutting-Edge Organic Chemistry in Asia (Junior ARNCEOCA-3) was held in Science Hall of LZU.
The conference was undertaken by State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry in LZU. Prof. Fan Chun’an presided over this conference and gave speech. Those participating in the meeting included almost 40 prominent scientific research institutions’ scholars from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Mainland , China, Taiwan,China and Hong Kong,China. The conference was divided into 26 oral presentation and 22 poster oral presentation, all centered on the cutting-edge development of organic chemistry and the other interrelated research field. In addition, internationally recognized scholars, including Prof. Yoshiharu Iwabuchi from Tohoku University, Prof. B. Moon Kim from Seoul National University, Prof. Pauline Chiu from The University of Hong Kong, and Researcher Rong-Jie Chein from Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica, gave wonderful keynote lecture on organic chemistry.
The series of “Junior International Conference on Cutting-Edge Organic Chemistry in Asia”, started in 2010, have been held successively in National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan) (from Dec. 6 to Dec. 8 in 2010) , in Xiamen University, China( from Dec. 9- Dec. 11 in 2011), in University of Malaya, Malaysia (from Dec. 8- Dec.10 in 2012), in Chiba University, Japan (from Nov. 22- Nov. 25 in 2013), in Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, Thailand(from Nov. 28- Dec. 1 in 2014), in National Taiwan Normal University (from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1 in 2015) and in Kyushu University, Japan(from Oct. 24 to Oct. 26 in 2016), and the conference has become one of the most influential international advanced research conference for young scholars. The success of the conference provides an international platform and horizon for junior scholars for presenting their achievements and establishing cooperation, so as to improve LZU’s international academic exchanges, development of organic chemistry discipline as well as post-graduate talent training.
