Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS) together with CASSES released “Comprehensive Evaluation of Chinese Think Tank Report (2017)” on November 10. This report includes general report and sub-reports, and the latter conducted a separately evaluation research on Think Tanks of comprehension, profession, enterprises and society. Finally, 166 Think Tanks were selected the list of “Core enter in comprehensive evaluation of Chinese Think Tank”, including Institute for Central Asian Studies Lanzhou University (ICAS), among which 41 units were involved to the evaluation of the A class of University Think Tanks --- list of project 211 in the international field, but ultimately only 14 units were selected.
In recent years, applying significant strategic demands of China as direction of scientific research, ICAS has gained fruitful achievements in fundamental research and think-tank development concerning to “B&R” Initiative, and researches on Central Asia, Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO), anti-secession theory, and anti-terrorism. ICAS has made contributions to government decision-making receiving praise form various ministries and departments and obtaining good academic and social reputations. ICAS ranks the 8th in the list of “B&R” University Think Tanks High Impact Universities in accord with “Belt and Road Initiative Big Data Report 2017” supervised by the General Office of the Leading Group for Advancing the Building of the Belt and Road Initiative and released by the State Information Center (SIC) in October, 2017.
