Invited by the Marx Institute of Lanzhou University, Rezanenko -- Professor of Oriental Studies and Volodymyr -- Sinology expert, from Kyiv Borys Grinchenko University, visited Lanzhou University from October 20 to 27.On the 26, vice president Pan Baotian met the delegation in the VIP room of the science museum. The meeting was accompanied by the directors of the international cooperation and exchange office, of the Marx school and of the school of history and culture.
Pan Baotian welcomed the guests and introduced the university’s history, dominant disciplines and international cooperation. He said that the Lanzhou University is committed to promoting the construction of world class university, expanding open education increasing the openness of education is an important measure to promote the process of building a world-class university. Both of the universities are located in cities standing in the important nodes of “The Belt and Road " Economic Zone, Pan hopes that their research results will provide the research basis and historical reference for the construction of the new " Silk Road Economic Belt ", that they can strengthen the communication between the two universities’ teachers and students, and welcomed the Kiev university teachers to work in LZU.
Rezanenko Volodymyr said that, on behalf of the president of Kiev University, he visited Lanzhou University, with the focus on cooperation in scientific research, on joint training of professional personnel and students, and on the young teachers' scientific research interaction and other fields of cooperation with Lanzhou University. He briefly introduced the University of Kiev. He said that exchanges and cooperation in the humanities are the driving forces of cooperation in other fields. At the same time, he hoped Chinese scholars will pay attention to the political and social problems in Ukraine. Finally, on behalf of the president of the University of Kiev, he welcomed the students and teachers from Lanzhou University to visit the University of Kiev.
