LZUers Attend 2017 National Natural Geography Conference

The 2017 National Natural Geography Conference was held in Nanjing from 20th to 22nd November. More than 50 teachers and students from the School of Resource and Environment participated in this conference. Centering on “the new development of and new challenges for natural geography under the context of changes”, this conference set 9 themes and 34 subjects. The conference included invited speech, oral presentation in parallel sessions and the display-board discussions.

n the the section of invited speech, academician Chen Fahu addressed a speech named “The new opportunities for Pan-Third pole scientific causes and the development of geography”, portraying a bright prospect for the geographical research in the Pan-Third pole region under the context of the “Belt and Road” initiative for the representatives in the conference with plain words.

In the parallel session of certain subjects, the professors from LZU not only acted as the organizer of relevant subjects, but they also gave exciting oral presentation. Professor Gou Xiaohua was appointed as the deputy director of the “Biological Geography Committee of the Chinese Geographical Society”.

The 2017 National Natural Geography Conference was sponsored by the Geographical Society of China, hosted by Nanjing University and co-hosted by the School of Resource and Environment of LZU and other research and development institutions. From 20th to 22nd November, more than 3,000 representatives from over 40 R&D institutions both at home and abroad participated in this conference. Centering on “the new development of and new challenges for natural geography under the context of changes”, this conference summarized and delivered the latest research results of natural geography theories, methods and technological application, and it also discussed the significance of ecology, environment and land and water resources in the face of global changes.
