President of Management and Science University, Malaysia visits LZU

On November 29th, Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, president of Malaysia's Management & Science University (MSU), Sharifah Huda Engku Muda, Vice Chancellor of Personnel, Rosli Yusof, Vice President of Foreign Affairs, and Chen Jie, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, visited Lanzhou University. Vice President Li Yumin met with the delegation in the VIP room of Science Museum. Relevant personnel from International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Youth League Committee, School of Management and Medical College also attended the meeting.

Vice President Li welcomed Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid and his party and briefed the guests on the history of our university, dominant disciplines, medical education and affiliated hospitals. He indicated that the LZU’s inclusion of "Double First-rate" list of colleges and universities (Category A) provided new opportunities for the university’s development, and that LZU was willing to promote exchanges and cooperation with MSU and hoping to start cooperation with both universities in the exchanges of teachers and students, of young scholars / doctors, and cooperation of professional English teaching, research work and medical projects.

Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid introduced the basic situation and development goals of MSU and agreed with Vice President Li's proposal. He pointed out that the Malaysian government attached great importance to the "One Belt & One Road Initiative" proposed by President Xi, looking forward to take this opportunity to strengthen cooperation between two universities, especially in preponderant subjects such as medicine and management, and to create exchanges between teachers and students. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid sincerely invited delegation of LZU to visit Malaysia in due course, for further discussion and realization of relevant cooperation.

Vice President Li and President Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid signed a memorandum of cooperation on behalf of the two universities respectively.
