From February 28th to March 9th, the key research base of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education - Dunhuang Studies Institute of Lanzhou University successfully organized and held the 2018 Lanzhou University & Hong Kong University – Gansu & Xinjiang Silk Road Academic Study Plan.
During the visit, invited experts from relevant literature institutions conducted professional explanations, and Prof. Zheng Binglin lectured on the history and culture of the Silk Road. The meeting attracted members of the team and a large number of fans. On the March 9th, teachers and students of Hong Kong University left this fancy land with reluctance, drawing an end to the visit.
The study tour was among 2018 One Million People Project sponsored by Lanzhou University as well as the third Silk Road History and Culture Study jointly organized by Dunhuang Studies Institute of Lanzhou University and Hong Kong University. Since 2016, this project has made a reception of nearly 200 people from Hong Kong University, not only expanding the exchanges between two universities, but also enhancing cultural identity and pride of HKU students.
