Academician Li Can appointed by Lanzhou University

On the afternoon of April 15, Lanzhou University held an appointment ceremony for Li Can, the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in the Science Museum and welcomed Yang Shengfu, the professor of the University of Leicester in UK to have a symposium.

On behalf of LZU, president Yan signed an agreement for the "double-employed academician" with Prof. Li. Meanwhile he extended a warm welcome to Prof. Yang for academic exchanges.

President Yan said that the talent pool was the top priority for LZU to carry out "Double First-rate" plan and achieve connotative development. Throughout history, LZU has been dedicated to the construction of talent teams. He also stated that the university in the new era would recruit high-level talents in more flexible and diverse ways, make double efforts to provide a first-class platform, support their career development, and solve their life issues by offering preferential treatment and perfect security system. Based on the national strategy, technological frontier, and regional development, academician Li and Prof. Yang were expected to involve in "Double First-rate” construction to establish a better image for LZU, thus attracting more qualified personnel and creating a brighter future.

Prior to the ceremony, president Yan, Academician Li and Prof. Yang had in-depth exchanges on talent team construction, subject development, and scientific research.
