The projects “Demonstration Zone of Grassland Agriculture Technology” and “Expanding Propagation Base for New Species of Tengri Cleistogenes Songorica”, supported by Grassland Science & Technology Innovation Alliance, and the pilot base for agriculture and livestock in Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Department in Gansu Province were launched by the School of Grassland Agriculture Science and Technology, LZU on April 11th. The projects are the concrete practices that LZU strengthens the development of local economy.
Nan Zhibiao, project consultant and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, put forward constructive proposals for the implementation. He expected that all the projects can materialized by actively responding to the related national and provincial policies centering on the strategies of poverty alleviation and industrial development so as to provide scientific and technological support for the sustainable development of grassland agriculture in Gansu Province. Besides, he also proposed to establish the leader team and work team of the projects as soon as possible.
Yan Fenmin, the inspector of Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Department of Gansu Province, underscored that related departments of all levels should raise political awareness, make good strategic preparation, build a multilateral cooperation mechanism of politics, university, enterprise, and society, and emphasize the pattern construction and the promotion of later development.
The heads of three demonstration county(district) said they would support and cooperate with relevant departments actively to ensure the smooth implementation of the projects.
