Key R&D project "Study on the CAPCT" kick-off meeting held in Lanzhou University

On April 7th, “The Construction of an Environmental Health Risk Assessment Model for China's Harmful Air Pollutants" kick-off meeting was held at Lanzhou University. It is the second project of “Study on the Environmental Risk Management System of Harmful Air Pollutants" under the National Key R&D Program "Study on the Causes of Air Pollution and Control Technology (CAPCT)".

Prof. Gong Shanling, the head of the expert group, introduced the review and management of works such as national key R&D projects at the meeting. The team leader and researcher of Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry Zhang Gan, conducted a detailed presentation of the overall situation, progress and research tasks for the five sub-projects. Prof. Gao Hong, the leader of second project from the College of Resources and Environment of LZU, gave a specific report on the implementation plan, feasibility, main research contents, technical method and expected results of the environmental health risk assessment model. All the experts fully affirmed its design, contents, implementation plans and feasibility of the project, putting forward targeted suggestions after an heated discussion with members.

The meeting has further clarified the key technical difficulties to be solved in the second project, and also identified the types of important toxic and harmful pollutants along with the focus of the exposure risk assessment. Furthermore, exchanges in the meeting have provided not only technological instructions but also pragmatic suggestions to ensure the smooth develpment of these important projects.
