Chinese mainstream medical media makes intense reports on achievements in The BMJ by Lanzhou University’s scholars

The BMJ, whose impact factor was 20.785 in 2016, published the paper coauthored by Pro.Chen Yaolong and Pro.Yang Kehu, from School of Basic Medicine of LZU, in February 5. It has been the first time for The BMJ to invite Chinese scholars to write articles on clinical practice guideline since its establishment 170 years ago. Meanwhile, the paper has also been the third one published in the world-class medical journal focusing on clinical practice guideline after two papers were delivered in Annals of Internal Medicine and Journal of the American Medical Association by the Evidence Based Medicine Center of School of Basic Medicine of LZU within two years since 2017.

The publishing of the paper has drawn wide attention in the domestic medical academic circle. Four most authoritative official media all have made reports the two professors and made interviews with them. 

The National Health Commission of the People p Republic of China, its mouthpiece, Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Chinese Medical Association all have made reports on the two or made exclusive interviews with them. In addition, 20 media have made comprehensive introduction and interpretation of their achievements.

In recent years, the scientific research in School of Basic Medicine of LZU develops rapidly and the level of papers increases significantly, which shows its faculty’s innovative and pragmatic attitude toward academic and diligent manner in work. The publishing of the paper will further safeguard the leading role of the Evidence Based Medicine Center of School of Basic Medicine of LZU in clinical practice guideline both at home and abroad. The Evidence Based Medicine Center will grasp the opportunity of LZU’s establishment of “Two world-classes”, and continue to cultivate more talents centering on the production, spreading, transformation and research of evidence, to make more higher-quality achievements and better serve the Healthy China.
