On May 1st, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education of Georgia, visited the Confucius Classroom at the Open University of Tbilisi.
Accompanied by foreign head of the Confucius Classroom, the delegation led by Misha Chkhenkeli visited the Chinese classroom, language lab, library and cultural experience room of the Confucius Classroom and praised it for its exquisite decoration and Chinese elements. Then the Chinese leader Mr. Che Rushan, introduced the teaching materials, teaching equipment and students’ learning situation. George Amilakhvari, Vice President of Tbilisi Open University, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Education of Georgia for its guidance, care and support.
After the visit, Misha Chkhenkeli stated that the Confucius Classroom had provided a platform for Georgian people to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture, deepening mutual exchanges and friendship between the two countries.
In addition, Misha spoke highly of the branch of Lanzhou University Georgia Research Center. He hopes that in the future, more Georgian cultural centers would be established to further strengthen cultural and educational exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
