Lanzhou University & CAS(Chinese Academy of Sciences) Academic Week, jointly organized by the CAS and LZU, was launched on May 13th. The opening ceremony and the first colloquium were held in Yuzhong Campus on the same day.
At the meeting, Academician Hong Maochun, director of academic council of Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, CAS delivered a report entitled “Science&Technology Frontiers and Change&Innovation”. Zhang Jing, who is from the graduate division of the institute, introduced the educational conditions in the Institute in the West Coast Strait Economic Zones, CAS. After the meeting, academician Hong had a discussion with students.
Students expressed their ideas and discussed with Prof. Hong after his report. A student named Bao Mingyan said, “Prof. Hong’s report provided me a clearer way of thinking on research. To realize the integration of the production, teaching and research, we need to put knowledge innovation into practice. This lecture expanded my knowledge and gave me a more specific instruction on research.”
