On May 17th, vice president of Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), party secretary of University of Science and Technology of China, Zhang Jie visited Yuzhong campus, LZU. He shared his view with faculties and students with the topic of "Reflection on new scientific and industrial revolution".
Zhang Jie introduced the origin and development of CAS and its achievements that have been made since the founding of the People's Republic of China(1949). He interacted with students on issues like people's fear for new things, pros and cons of scientific revolution by sharing his own experience.
LZU president Yan Chunhua hopes that LZU students can receive qualified education and get on the path of productive academic research as well as broaden their horizons and improve awareness through academic week.
According to the report, this seminar is one of the series academic seminars during "Lanzhou University-CAS academic week", which is jointly held by LZU and CAS. Senior experts of CAS will be invited to conduct academic reports from May 13th to 19th. They will provide students with cutting-edge academic research status quo as well as opportunities and platforms for students to communicate with top-level teachers and experts in relevant fields.
