Alumnus donates 500,000 RMB equipment to Lanzhou University

On May 19th, Wang Jianjun, the president of the Shanghai Alumni Association of LZU and alumnus of geology major enrolled in 1990, donated 500,000 RMB news-editing equipment to LZU to support the university’s news publicity work and media personnel training.

Wang Jianjun said that four-years study and life at LZU laid a good foundation for his later work and development. Twenty years have passed, but his memories of life there are still fresh. He expressed thanks to his alma mater. He said that there are more than 5,000 alumni of the Shanghai Alumni Association. LZU alumni and alumnae are in all walks of life at home and abroad with good career. We are very concerned about and willing to contribute to the development of our alma mater.

LZU party secretary Yuan Zhanting said that Wang Jianjun is an entrepreneur with passion, ambition, and abilities. He has been caring and supporting the development of his alma mater for a long time. This generous donation and meeting with other alumni are of educational and demonstration significance.

After the donation ceremony, Wang Jianjun held a discussion with student representatives of the campus media and accepted a joint interview of the “People of LZU” column of the News Center of LZUand the “Recollection of Memory” project of the Archives.
