On June 7th, LZU witnessed the joining of colleges and universities of Shenyang city in the “Belt and Road” universities network and the signature ceremony of preparing and establishing the Shenyang sub-network. About 40 people were present, including Yan Chunhua, president of LZU, relevant persons in charge of LZU; Feng Shouquan, minister of the publicity department of Shenyang city, Zhaoji, president of Northeastern University, the leadership and persons in charge of functional departments of other colleges and universities in Shenyang city, Shi Baizhan, secretary of the committee of colleges and universities in Gansu province, as well as the leadership and persons in charge of functional departments of other colleges and universities in Gansu province.
Yan Chunhua stated that jointly preparing and establishing the Shenyang sub-network and extensively consulting about the grand plan of educational exchanges through the “Belt and Road” is the initiative exploration of the concrete cooperation among colleges and universities along the “Belt and Road”, thus showing significant implications for the development of universities network and for promoting the “Belt and Road” education proposed by Ministry of Education.
Feng Shouquan and Zhao Ji said that LZU has nurtured numerous outstanding talents for western construction and national development, making itself a model for other universities in the network. Under such circumstances, the establishment of Shenyang sub-network will improve the level and enhance the influence of the cooperation within the network. Meanwhile, Shenyang sub-network is looking forward to contributing to the network’s prosperity together with other network members.
During the signature ceremony, on behalf of the Office of the Secretary-General of the network, Yan Chunhua signed the memorandum of cooperation within universities network along the “Belt and Road” with the leadership from China Medical University, Liaoning University, etc. respectively. Yan also signed the memorandum of the preparation and establishment of Shenyang sub-network.
The joining of colleges and universities of Shenyang city in the “Belt and Road” universities network and the preparation and establishment of Shenyang sub-network have enlarged the platform for the network’s development and improved the levels of the network members, thus marking that the “Belt and Road” universities network has entered a new phase.
